S.O.S: My Picky Eater Daughter.

Sarah has turn into a picky eater whenever she is at home since a few months ago. I don't know what makes her in becoming one because this never happens whenever she is with her babysitter. At first, I thought maybe it was my cooking. But even when the babysitter provide me with her cooking, it is still the same. Some people said that it is just a 'baby nature' where she would like to be mengada-ngada with the parents but I can't accept that. It bother us so much and we will become very worry during the weekend/holidays.

I've tried introducing her to different foods like chesse, seafood, meats, buns, calci-yum just to name a few. She will have a taste on them but most of the time it was us who finished them up. The only foods that she love that I could recall are Weetameal biscuits, chocolates ( this is bad!) and plain water only. She even dislikes Scott's Emulsion. It was such a waste when she refuse to consume them.

Her paed recommends us to give her Pediasure or Progress Gold for picky eaters. Since I am not breastfeeding, we decided to provide her with a premium milk, hoping that it will give as much as good nutritions as breast's milk. The doctor gave a few Pedeasure samples to try on and to my surprise Sarah love it so much. This susu tastes so sedap and she keep consuming it every now and then. I also realize her appetite is also increase a little bit. But then comes another problem. Pediasure is so expensive that it costs Mr husband RM 56.++ per can and RM3++ per month only for that. To us that is expensive.

When the budget become tighter in these days, we decided to change it with Progress Gold. Still within the "Premium Milk" range but way cheaper .It cost us RM 43.++ per can and it has RM13 difference than Pediasure . So we bought it and hoping for her to love it.

But Sarah hates it. Maybe she's not ready yet and doesn't want to consume it at all and keep tepis-tepis her bottle. Or maybe it doesn't taste so sedap kut? We keep forcing her to drink that and at last she did, but not with an open heart. We just know it as she only consume it whenever she felt really hungry, otherwise plain water is much preferable.

We are very much regret to change her milk and decided to switch back to Pediasure. Even though it is very costly but we do not have much choice. Maybe when she reach 2 years old we will consider switching to different brand.
Sarah can't be rely on milk only right? But she doesn't want to eat much. It was sad to dispose the porridge every night. Pertama, sedih. Kedua, membazir.

So does your daughters are picky eaters too? How you resolve it? Suggestions are very much welcome and appreciated.

My son was also a picky eater from birth. He wouldn't even breastfeed, we ended up using soy milk. He loved chicken, though, and we got him to try fish by telling him it was "river chicken".

salams kenal.

my dotter pun cerewet mkn juga...tp walau camne paksa dia mkn x jln...so susu ajalah penawar kelaparan.

dr umur 6 bulan smpai 2 1/2 thun mnum NAN, then kami tukar ke pediasure sbb nak tukar ke susu y ada range umur lebih besar. mcm2 susu cuba. walaupun anak bleh aja mnum tp bermalsh sembelit pula. So my brother advice us utk bg PEDIASUre. Memang bagus lah utk yang cerewet mkn. skrg dah 4 1/2 thun pun msih mnum pediasure lg tp dah makin kurang lah sbb dah besar dah pandai minta nak mkn. tp seminggu tetap habis setin juga. dulu masa awal2 mnum PEDIASURE 4/5 hari dah habis 1 tin. memang costlylah susu ni. tp mujur anak baru sorg...so pejam mata aja.

budak2 kalau payah mkn ni memgn smpai ke besar susah skit... I pun skrg masih lg paksa anak mkn...tp x boleh hari2 nnti dia kata smlm dah mkn dah...

huhuhuuu sabar ajalahh
