Herbs and Spices

I love cooking although may not be really good at it. My favourites are always western-kinda dish, because for a pemalas person that always on the go like me, they are easy and does not requires much effort.

I have a special cabinets to place all my herbs and spices and love it so much. It's just at the top right above the gas stove and very much reachable.

I love experimenting with different kind of spices and these are my most used herbs and spices. Cajun~it gives you slight tingy-hot-sour aroma but to me cayenne pepper is much hotter. Mixed spice~sweet spices. I just love this. Mixed Herbs~ So useful when making pasta. Black peppercorn and blackpepper and garlic. What I like about this brand is it comes together with the grinder so you'll get freshly grind pepper each time. At the back there are parsley leaves, bay leaves, dried oregano. And the glass jars behind are where I store my kunyit, buah keras, cloves, or any other malay/indian spices.

Among the easiest dishes, that I have shared in my Instagram.  Whatever the name is, I just marinate the chicken overnight with barbeque sauce, add in some cajun, mixed spice, black pepper, salt. Then steam the potatoes for awhile and put all everything in baking dish. Sprinkle some yellow onion then just dumped it into the oven for about 45 minutes with 180 deg. Easy peasy!

And this, basically the same except that I slather the top of the chicken with some pasta sauce. Yummy. And that yummy, crunchy coleslow. Man, I am salivating at my own food and I am not perasan. haha.

Oh. I love my table clothes as I am into checkered design lately. Gotta blog about this piece of clothes that is so much fuss-free. Fuss as in it does not leaves any stains on it. Perfect for a pemalas mom with small kids like me.

2 Days of Being a Housewife

Mr husband went to KK last Monday for work purpose, and the moment he told me about that I knew that I had to take a leave. Reason why;-

All this while, he is incharged of the kids in the morning because his office is just 5 minites from home and with the kinda flexible working hours, he just fit the role. From cleaning the house (just sapu sikit2), waking up the kids (this is hard because my Sophia is usually cranky), bathing Sarah, do the bed and drive them to school and Mak Ros. He is doing a big role in the family.

So i got to play daddy + mommy for 2 days, and I love it so much. Except that I think if I am a housewife, i will be less presentable kut. I sees myself berpeluh satu badan by 8 am, and terus bergegas to send Sarah to school and memang didn't care much to put on a proper attire.Just wore a lazy pants and oversize t-shirt and donning the Ariani. Easy peasy. no powder and no lipstick were put on and I think I kinda look like maid. Lucky that husband not here to witness it. (Or did he witnessed this before? So shameful)

But all the these could not overtop my satisfaction in caring for the kids and home on my own. Looking at the happy faces of Sarah when she saw me fetching her from school, and Sophia is so closed to me that she always needs me pacify her. (Did I tell you that sometimes she requested for my boobs). And the eagerness of them to eat my home cooked lunch with second helping, the pure satisfaction when i got to sweep the dry leaves off my lawn, wiping off the dust at corners... it is just wow!

At one moment, i feel like tendering the resignation letter BUT, reality checked. No, not yet.. Whenever mr husband is ready, then I am ready to stay at home. or even if i could do an at-home job that could earn me 1/2 of my salary pun, I am willing to.

But then, here I am today. Writing this in the office during lunch time. If it was yesterday, I was busy at the dining table, feeding them..

Progress Sarah

All of sudden, Sarah told me a strory.

'Anjing yang tamak'

Seekor anjing sedang berjalan- jalan,

Dia nampak seketul tulang dan menggonggong tulang itu,

Sampai di sungai dia nampak bayang - bayang sendiri,,,,,,,

Seriously is that what i heard? Rasa terharu sangat because I used to know this story when I was 7 kut... and obviously, i did not know the word 'menggonggong' at that time.

As to date;

- she recognize all the numbers and alphabets (both rumi and jawi, but don't know how to read yet)

- Memorise and can recite doa makan and doa penerang hati with the english translation (which the translation mcm bahasa german but it is okay)

-Can recite certain ayat-ayat dalam solat i.e a little bit of takhiyat awal, sedikit doa qunut.

Sum of My Life

Lately,

Life has been hectic nowadays and Alhamdulillah we managed to have a small do for Sophia's Aqiqah. Rasa lega bila dah settle kan perkara nan satu ni.

Sophia is turning 2 this coming 11 June!, therefore, we gonna have a small celebration this saturday, just our family, and our neighbour and her babysitter. Small to us is relatively quite a number of people yeah because family ramai. Planned to order rainbow cake tapi my sister warned me, jangan lah takut orang tak makan. Therefore SR Indulgence it is.

Initially, we are supposed to go for a short trip to PD this saturday to celebrate sophia's birthday, Avillion hotel already booked at a good price but then have to cancel because Mr husband later on told me that he was supposed to fly to KK the next day for working purpose. I was devastated, geram sebab the kids dah calling for beach and sand castle but what to do kan. Nasib baik cancellation was free. Funny thing was, lepas cancel je, got sms from him telling me that tak jadi pergi on Sunday, instead he'll be flying on Monday.

I guess, takde rezeki nak pergi.

Sarah's school is going to be relocated at somewhere yang we do not really like. But kat Kuang tak banyak choice for tadika. To be exact, tadika yang fulfill our criteria - Islamic-English Medium. Sarah pun seronok pergi school, and we are going to meet the teacher this Saturday for her progress report. Excited and nervous at the same time!

I am as fat as a baby elephant. Mr husband agrees to. Maybe we are just happy bunch and lately selera bertambah tambah. Yeah, it is true that kalau happy memang berselera makan. *nangis tengok thigh*

I need to stay away from shopping malls this month. Jari pun kena tahan without online shopping. Bulan 6 nak kena bayar yurun Sarah for next semester and next month pulak road tak mati. Target to utilise duit gaji saja, and takmo guna duit saving.

Ramadhan is coming up, and we are excited!!!
